Tufts Set Date for Community Meetings about Proposed Lab Facility
North Grafton, Mass., February 1, 2007 – Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University has scheduled two community meetings for Grafton residents interested in learning more about the school’s project plans for the Regional Biosafety Laboratory proposed for Grafton Science Park. The two meetings will be held on Thursday, February 15. The first will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Conference Room A at the Grafton Memorial Municipal Center, 30 Providence Road, Grafton. The second will be held at 7:00 p.m. in Tufts’ Franklin M. Loew Veterinary Medical Education Center. Parking is available in the lot next to this building. Both meetings are open to Grafton residents.
Representatives from Flad & Associates and CCRD, the project’s architects and engineers, will provide in-depth presentations of the facility at these meetings.

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that a zoning law be enacted or amendment to applicable existing law/bylaw be implemented so as to prohibit Bio Safety Level 3 and Level 4 research facilities or other such entities from operating in the Town of Grafton Massachusetts for purposes of bioterrorism defense research or bioterrorism emergency response.
